The Port Alsworth Improvement Corporation (PAIC) undertakes a variety of projects designed to benefit our community. These projects generally fall into a few key areas:
Long-Term Community Projects – initiatives that provide lasting benefits for residents and the local area.
Short-Term Community Projects – smaller-scale efforts that address immediate needs or improvements.
Lake & Peninsula Borough Projects – collaborative projects in partnership with the Borough to support broader regional goals.
All PAIC projects share one essential goal: serving the common good and enhancing the welfare of Port Alsworth residents.
Each year, PAIC develops a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) list to outline our short-term and long-term community priorities. The 2024/25 CIP list reflects projects that improve Port Alsworth’s infrastructure and quality of life:
Short-Term Priorities (smaller or shorter-duration projects)
Roads & Trails
Emergency Services
Incinerator
Long-Term Priorities (multi-year, larger projects)
Solid Waste Ash-fill / Incinerator
Public Airport
Marina
This CIP list helps PAIC plan and focus our efforts while communicating priorities to the Lake & Peninsula Borough. The Borough uses the list to submit projects for state funding and to advocate for support through their lobbyist, ensuring projects that benefit the community move forward efficiently.
